Bezzy for Disciplinary Sergeant

For those who don't know me, Hi I'm Bezzy.

I've been present and active in the 17th for over a year now, and during that time I have spent all of it attached to Echo Company, getting to know the people in the company and bonding with many of them. I've always been a friendly and approachable person, and have never shied away from conversing with people.

Given that I've only been around for a little over a year I haven't had the opportunity to spend much time with those outside of Echo Company, I understand that there may be some hesitations that I wouldn’t know what's best for both the Unit and the Community in this role when it comes to handling disciplinary matters but I personally view it as an opportunity to grow more with the community and with those in Alpha Company included.

For some background context of my prior experience. I'm the BXO in a near 200-man starsim unit that I've been a part of for the past three years, and while being the BXO I’ve had to handle a plethora of disciplinary concerns, additionally I've spent nearly a decade and a half playing Arma 3 and before that Arma 2, and just in general, playing in multiple units and other gaming communities holding numerous different level administrative positions that included a disciplinary role.

In all my time spent in these administrative positions, which, as I stated prior, usually involved some form of disciplinary aspect associated with them. I’ve learned that every situation is different and, as such, it’s best to approach them and the people involved in them with a different mindset every time. Accidents happen, and those who may be new or old can make mistakes. As long as they aren’t repeat offenders or troublemakers in general, there’s no need for harsh punishments, as most situations can be resolved by simply sitting down with the person and having a conversation.

I’m a firm believer that while it’s important to ensure a standard is being set, there’s a time and place for everything, and it’s not necessary to be strict all day, every day. For many of us, this still remains a video game that we all wish to have fun in with our friends and cohorts alike. But the moment that our own personal fun begins to ruin the enjoyment and experience of everyone else around us, that’s when we’ve gone too far and where we can initiate that conversation to resolve the concern.

With all of that being said, I do appreciate the community and your time in considering me for the role, and if selected, I look forward to bringing a fresh perspective to the role!
