Situation:

Last operation's fighting saw a brutal, direct action engagement by Rangers pushing through northeastern Isla Pera, successfully driving back enemy forces in retreat to a tighter defense line around Tagua Airbase and the destruction of Destroyer Bravo. Resistance forces from the Family of the North (FDN) are working alongside IDAP and additional NATO forces to stabilize the local towns and provide relief to the beleaguered populace. Additional offensive operations in the north have been postponed due to the heavy presence of enemy Gripens being activated to hold us back.

During the northeastern push, Rangers downloaded two important pieces of intel. The first intel was a cargo dossier that contained information about its inventory being moved to the Middle East to the region of Farabad, with a Res Publica carrier being used to be the middleman in the transportation. In addition, there is supposedly more inventory that is being extracted out through southern Isla Pera, heading east towards Tagua Airport. The second intel included details regarding a secret meeting that is to take place at the abandoned resort on the southwestern island, just off the coast of Isla Pera. We will be acting on both for this operation.

Enemy Forces:

OPFOR:
  • Res Publica
    • Marine Infantry
      • AAVPs and LAVs in support.
    • Airborne Infantry
      • Equipped with Merlins and Wildcats
    • Special Forces
      • Confirmed use of reconnaissance drones
    • Carrier Fleet
      • 2x LHD (Alpha and Bravo), 1x Destroyer (Alpha) along southeastern coast.
        • LHD Alpha has moved closer to the southeast of Bocachico, unloading troops and equipment.
      • Enemy carrier in standoff position to far east
        • Enemy Gripens spotted operating in the past week over Isla Pera

Friendly Forces:

BLUFOR:
  • 17th Ranger Battalion
  • 9th Air Commando Group
  • Resistance Fighters - Família do Norte (Family of the North)
    • The Family is a known criminal organization based in northern Brazil. They are well funded and well equipped due to their involvement with drug trafficking and other criminal businesses. An unsteady alliance has developed between us and the Family in the interest of removing the much larger threat of Res Publica.
    • Stand-in faction will be 3CB FIA.

Civilian Considerations:

Isla Pera has been an active combat area with little opportunity to evacuate civilians. As a result, several refugee centers have been sporadically set up throughout the region. Please take great care in limiting damage to civilian infrastructure. We are here to help the Brazilian people.

Mission:

There are two primary objectives for this operation.

The first objective is to conduct a raid at the abandoned island resort. The intel suggests that there are three main members to be in attendance at this event: Res Publica Colonel James Mason, Brazilian chemical scientist Miguel Mendes, and an arms dealer codenamed Hobson. We have images of Mason and Huxley, but Hobson's identity remains a mystery. The purpose of this meeting involves a transaction over Mendes being handed over to Hobson by Mason, destination unknown. We can expect Res Publican special forces to be in attendance protecting the meeting. The goal is to capture all three members and extract them back to the carrier JS Kirin. The meeting is expected to take place at exactly 10:00. Attacking the resort early and alerting the enemy will likely allow them to escape.

The second objective is to recover a disabled Res Publica convoy in the city of Bocachico. This convoy consists of three escort vehicles plus one transport vehicle, which should be carrying materials for a prototype weapon onboard according to the dossier. Its container is built with a Faraday cage, implying electromagnetic sensitivity. However, the city of Bocachico has been going through heavy fighting between FDN and Res Publica forces, and FDN only has small pockets of holdouts left throughout Bocachico. Intercepted radio communications have confirmed that a Res Publica counterattack from the east of the city is scheduled to take place at 10:45, which will potentially allow the convoy to breakout. We have communicated with FDN and asked their assistance in delaying a Res Publica attack, but they will likely not be able to hold out long. Goals are to recover the convoy's cargo, deliver it back to the carrier JS Kirin, and relieve FDN forces inside Bocachico by repelling Res Publica forces from the city.

Execution:

Operations will be conducted from the JS Carrier Squadron from the west. Since the mission is divided into two separate phases, there is an opportunity for units to resupply back on the carrier before redeploying.
