Situation:

With the fighting over Isla Pera finished, our collected intelligence points us towards Farabad, a small region in the Persian Gulf at the edge of the Iranian and Iraqi border. Aethelgard Biopharma, an advanced biotech company with holdings across the globe, has a key research facility in the heart of Farabad. Strongarmed by Res Publica into developing new biochemical weapons of war, Aethelgard has become a prime military target by many interested nations. The Iranian military has dispatched an expeditionary force of volunteers to help quell civil unrest brewing in Farabad in the interest of keeping the peace. Designated as the Farabad Regional Army, these troops have been assisting Res Publica in tightening their hold over Farabad.

However, much of the Farabad populace, threatened by the presence of a rising military force occupying their region in addition to being subjected to experimentation, have taken up arms in open revolt against the occupation. This insurgency calls themselves the Children of Azar, and now a civil war rages across Farabad.

An open line of communication has already been established with the Children of Azar, and we will be providing military aid to the insurgency. After a brief pitched battle between naval forces, we have destroyed their garrison fleet in the Persian Gulf and have managed to open a corridor for some supplies to be delivered to the mainland via air. A Forward Operating Base has already been established near Farabad Port, designated Scorpion. The remainder of allied ships are keeping a wide berth from the mainland, defending against potential air assets and anti-ship missiles. We have been sent in to liberate Farabad and to pacify the region, bringing an end to Res Publica.

Currently, the Children of Azar are in a pitched fight over Farabad International Airport. They are strenuously holding the airport for now, as they are under threat of artillery and ground forces driving them out soon from the north and west. We will be launching our attacks along the east for this mission, conducting deep strike assaults to cripple the enemy's rear line.

    • An insurgency brewed from Res Publica's experimentation on the people of Farabad. Through armed revolt, their goals are to remove Res Publica from the region, dismantle the Farabad Regional Army, and to establish a new government under Iraq's jurisdiction. They possess an extensive network of informants throughout Farabad, providing us key intel for our operations.
    • Underequipped, using mostly repurposed Land Rovers and Hiluxes.

Civilian Considerations:

The region is an active combat zone with civilians present throughout the region. Avoid causing unnecessary damage to non-military targets. The Children of Azar would benefit from increased numbers to join their ranks throughout this campaign.

Mission:

We need to relieve pressure off of the Children of Azar as they make their attempt to hold Farabad Airport. They are barely holding their ground as is due to the constant artillery pressure combined with enemy ground forces. Cruise missiles from our fleet in the Persian Gulf have aided in deterring the enemy temporarily, but CoA will not continue to hold out for long. Our top priority is to capture the enemy officer at his command post at Fort Kelati, breaking down their line of communications between forward units and the rear artillery.  Afterwards, we can then move on to neutralize their artillery, which intel reports to be close to Outpost Shahruk. As an additional consideration, we do have information on a potential supply depot at Ali Kala, with medical supplies marked by Athelgard Biopharma. Retrieve these medical supplies back to the FOB for research and destroy any remaining ammunition caches.

This intel would not be possible without one of the CoA's informants, Darius Abdollah. His last transmission saw to his capture at the town of Kandah. The Children would greatly appreciate his safe retrieval.

Execution:

Launching operations will be conducted from FOB Scorpion east of Port Farabad. Recover all necessary assets back to the FOB.

Objectives:

  • Capture the commanding officer at Fort Kelati coordinating the battle over Farabad Airport
  • Recover a medical cache of supplies belonging to Athelgard Biopharma at Ali Kala
    • Secondary: Destroy any ammo crates present
  • Destroy the howitzers and MLRS platforms at Outpost Shahruk
  • Rescue an informant from the town of Kandah belonging to the Children of Azar
