Situation:

The fighting in Norway has come to a close, with the remainder of Res Publica forces surrendering in the fjord region. The 12th Airborne Cavalry will be remaining in Norway to help facilitate the removal of Res Publica in Norway. This faction has proven to be well supplied and equipped, and we have strong evidence to believe their hold is much more extensive. Directive Firewall's jurisdiction has now been extended to Brazil. Isla Pera, an island part of the Brazilian state of Amapá, has seen civil unrest in the past month. We have full confirmation now that Res Publica is active in this region with a sizeable military presence, including a small fleet capable of ground and air operations. Their purpose on Isla Pera is unknown as of this time, but heavy fighting has broken out across the island between Res Publica and the locals of Isla Pera who have formed a resistance against the occupation. Landfall by Res Publica forces has not happened on the mainland of Brazil due to the efforts of the Brazilian Air Force and Navy combatting Res Publica fighters and ships along the coast.

A multinational task force has been organized and dispatched to stabilize the region. A small Japanese fleet, initially intended for operations in the Strait of Hormuz, has been rerouted to be a part of this task force. This includes the carrier JS Kirin, the destroyer JS Sapporo, and the LHD JS Asahi. The 17th Ranger Battalion and the 9th Air Commando Group have been assigned to be the main ground force for this operation until additional reinforcements can arrive.

Immediate goals are to establish contact with local resistance cells, provide humanitarian aid, and discover Res Publica's intentions on Isla Pera.

Enemy Forces:

OPFOR:
  • Res Publica
    • Marine Infantry
      • Social media footage from Instagram and TikTok confirms the presence of AAVPs and LAVs.
    • Airborne Infantry
      • C-130s have conducted paradrops over strategic locations across Isla Pera, such as airbases, cities, and ports.
      • Wildcats and Merlins are primary rotary wing assets for CAS and Logistics.
    • Fixed Wing
      • Limited Gripens at the moment, primarily occupied with Brazilian Air Force. Possible Albatrosses as CAS. Bombing strikes confirmed on urban centers.
    • Carrier Fleet
      • 2x LHD, 2x Destroyers along eastern coast.
      • Enemy carrier in standoff position. Unknown exact location.
Mission Maker Note #1

Due to the initial size of our first AO, it is very unlikely we will activate enemy fixed wing, especially not in force due to how small it is. Rotary wing assets likely will be encountered.

Friendly Forces:

BLUFOR:
  • 17th Ranger Battalion
  • 9th Air Commando Group
  • Resistance Fighters - Família do Norte (Family of the North)
    • The Family is a known criminal organization based in northern Brazil. They are well funded and well equipped due to their involvement with drug trafficking and other criminal businesses. An unsteady alliance has developed between us and the Family in the interest of removing the much larger threat of Res Publica.

Civilian Considerations:

Isla Pera has been an active combat area with little opportunity to evacuate civilians. As a result, several refugee centers have been sporadically set up throughout the region. Please take great care in limiting damage to civilian infrastructure. We are here to help the Brazilian people.

Mission:

This first operation will include an insertion into the northwestern part of Isla Pera, with the goal of controlling the two lakes: Laguna Aliso and Laguna Lila. The town of El Guarno is a major bridge crossing that enables troop movement in the north, making this town a high priority target. Two additional locations, a digging site and a lumber mill west of El Guarno, are also Res Publica outposts that should be contested. Aerial reconnaissance has also identified a research facility just north of Isla Pera Airport, with the airport being used as a refugee site from Santa Isabel.

Primary objectives are to capture El Guarno and to investigate the research facility.

Secondary objectives are to establish linkup with resistance forces. In addition, it is known that multiple resistance members have been taken prisoner. One of our agreements with the Family is to rescue their people if possible. A meeting point will be marked on the map with one of their cells to receive intelligence about potential prisoner locations. A limited ROE is highly recommended on transport vehicles due to prisoners being moved around.

Execution:

RRC is requested to conduct an investigation of the reserach facility before 06:30 (time adjustable) Operations will be conducted from our ships in the northwest of Isla Pera.

Mission Maker Note #2

Soft no fly zones will be marked in red. While you may likely not face any potential threats in the red zones, please avoid flying over them and stay within the playing area.
