OPORD - Iron Verdict Episode 1

Situation

In recent months, the small post-Soviet republic of Chernarus has become a flashpoint in a growing geopolitical crisis. The ChDKZ (Chernarussian Movement of the Red Star), a radical pro-communist militia, has resurged in the South Zagoria region with alarming strength and sophistication. Intelligence intercepts and satellite imagery confirm that Russian Federation Spetsnaz advisors, arms shipments, and heavy equipment have been steadily funneled across the northern border into ChDKZ hands. The ChDKZ, emboldened by Russian support, has declared the formation of a "People's Chernarussian Republic", vowing to reestablish communist rule across Eastern Europe under the banner of a "New Red Union."
In response to the growing crisis, the United Nations has condemned the Russian incursion, and NATO has authorized a rapid deployment operation under Article 5 defense principles. At the core of this response is Task Force Marvel. TF Marvel has been tasked with executing Operation Iron Verdict — a full-spectrum campaign to neutralize ChDKZ leadership, disrupt Russian supply lines, and liberate key Chernarussian territory before a wider war erupts.

The 17th shall predominantly provide blocking forces and cover while the 9th performs targeted incursions and capture of the infrastructure. It is expected that defense will become necessary upon taking the port as it is the only link between the Russians and Chernarussians.

Command and Signal

Long Range Frequencies:

  • Reference the Commo Card for standard comms channels
  • EXCEPTIONS for THIS op:
    • 9th shall use SR 200 series for ground troop comms
      • They will also have an FO on LR 65 for mortars
    • Both commanders shall coordinate on LR 45
      • Powerline Romeo will be on this net as point of contact for JIPs and resupply requests from both units
    • 17th command shall coordinate internally on LR 45.1
    • 17th Air to Ground will be on LR 35.7
    • 9th Air to Ground will be on LR 35.9
    • Air to Air shall remain on LR 30
      • ALL CAS AIRCRAFT SHALL advise over LR 30 a quick parrot of the strike they are on to prevent redundancy, de-conflict simultaneous strikes in tight airspace, and coordinate with wing-men if required
      • A note here that all CAS assets must be available and ready to switch to the joint units JTAC net if requested. These requests will be relayed from the JTAC through their controlled aircraft. Requested assets will swap JTAC nets if available and released, conduct the strike, then swap back.
      • For example: 17th JTAC needs an A-10 to cover a CAS shortfall. 17th JTAC calls an asset they control and passes on the request to one of the A-10s. The A-10 advises their controller and requests to be released. The 9th JTAC complies and releases. The A-10 swaps to LR 35.7 and conducts the strike. The A-10 returns to LR 35.9 and advises on expended munitions.
