OPORD - Iron Verdict Episode 2

Situation

The ChDKZ (Chernarussian Movement of the Red Star) despite tremendous losses, has been able to consolidate its forces with the help of Russian forces at bases across the region. The ChDKZ has established defensive positions in towns across the region and reinforced their bases with AA assets. Centred at Novy Sobor and Stary Sobor, the ChDKZ has managed to setup armour staging and sustainment facilities.

Having failed in their goals of a proxy ground war, the Russians have sent direct air intervention which has escalated tensions in the region and provided increasing threats to our forces. They have given the ChDKZ base and radar security, rotary-wing aircraft, fixed-wing aircraft, forward air controllers, and an integrated air defence network to ensure success in the region. The main goals of the Russian Forces are to deny NATO air dominance, protect remaining ChDKZ heavy assets, and attrition NATO forces.

Area of Operation (AO):

The AO is spread out across Chernarus, with 17th and 9ACG air support having dedicated tasks.

Engagement Criteria:

Friendly fixed-wing aircraft are to only engage enemy fixed-wing airframes and are to leave rotary-wing airframes to ground forces. They are free fire on radar and AA sites throughout the region and are to destroy the enemy bases as designated. Complete destruction and denial of use is requested.

Friendly ground forces are to engage at will. Destruction of civilian property is acceptable if necessary, except for cultural sites (Churches, graves, etc.). Destruction of rotary-wing airframes and enemy armour is allowed.

Most likely Cause of Action:

Friendly forces will engage and destroy enemy forces at the towns of Novy Sobor and Stary Sobor along with friendly air forces destroying the various airfields and bases within the region, denying the enemy more supplies and forcing them further back into the region.

Most Deadly Course of Action:

The no fly zone around NWAF is breached and activates long-range SAM sites and aerial response, causing a mission abort and failure. Ground forces are unable to defend Task Force Marvel and their severe losses cause collapse of friendly lines, causing our forces to be cut off.

Mission:

Execution:

Ground forces will convoy through the town of Staroye and turn north of Guglovo, stopping at Lesnoy Khrebet to setup a command post outside of Novy Sobor. Mortars and support from friendly ground forces will allow for the push into the towns. A detachment of 9ACG forces will take the town of Staroye via little bird to secure it for the convoy. A detachment of 17th forces with take the town of Guglovo via little bird to secure it for the convoy.

Air forces will engage and destroy bases as desired. Take off will happen when ground forces begin convoy.

Objectives:

1. Objective Mao - Novy Sobor - Destruction of enemy tank depot
   
2. Objective Lenin - Stary Sobor - Destruction of armour service depot
3. Objective Stalin - Krasnostav Airport - Complete destruction of air facilities and runway, along with any air assets present
4. Objective Marx - Balota Airstrip - Complete destruction of air facilities and runway, along with any air assets present
5. Objective Xi - Rog - Destruction of enemy radar capabilities and any surrounding structures
6. Objective Engels - Devil's Castle - Destruction of enemy radar capabilities and any surrounding structures
7. Objective Castro - Green Mountain Military Base - Complete saturation of the area and destruction of any facilities.

  • Final loadout checks and loading into vehicles, preparing air assets for take off

• Phase III: OBJ Mao

  • Friendly forces will setup a command post at the mountain to the NE of OBJ Mao, they will then move into the town from the NE with smoke support and friendly vehicle support. Marked tanks will be destroyed by CAS or ground forces as available. Town clearing will be split North and South between 9ACG and 17th forces.

• Phase IV: OBJ Lenin

  • Friendly forces will then advance into OBJ Lenin and repeat. Splitting off the town between the forces. Friendly mortars will provide fire on the West and Southwest parts of town as needed to cover friendly forces from reinforcements.
    

• Phase V: RP/AAR

  • All units prepare for debrief.

Nonverbal Coordination:

• Green: This is used to mark friendly positions on the field.
• Blue: Marking suitable locations for Landing Zones.
• Red: This is used for marking enemy positions for all units to reference.
• Yellow: This is used to inform friendly forces that Immediate medical support is needed.
• Purple: This color represents a friendly position with enemy units danger close, Anyone outside of 100 meters away from the smoke should be assumed hostile.
• Orange: This tells anyone in the air that a friendly unit is in desperate need of resupply.
