Opord

Situation

After deliberations from higher ups, it has been decided that the 17th Ranger Battalion will move in and perform a surprise beach landing before the AAF knows what hits them. We will secure a foothold on the peninsula and take control of a small airstrip to be used for future missions. Friendly air assets will be performing SEAD to enable us to resupply our troops and to move friendly assets in for the main push. Securing the towns around the airfield as well as the main city of Pyrgos will give us a strong standing point to launch into further operations. Friendly RRC elements have confirmed that enemy presence on the beach is light and the go ahead for an assault has been given.

Area of Operation (AO):

South-Eastern peninsula of Altis

Forces in Play:

Opfor:

AAF Infantry, Mechanized, and Armoured units.
    AAF Artillery/Mortars
    AAF Anti-Air Systems
    AAF Air Force

    Blufor:

      17th Ranger Battalion
      Friendly NATO forces

      Civilian Considerations:

Civilians have not been informed of the invasion nor given an order to evacuate. There will be a heavy civilian presence in the AO. Take care not to injure any or damage any infrastructure.

      Engagement Criteria:

Enemies will have light support on the beachhead due to not knowing where we’d land from, air assets will successfully perform SEAD, and we will move through the garrisoned towns.

Enemy forces will be heavily entrenched with machine guns and artillery trained on the beach, shelling and shooting our forces before we land. Enemy anti-air will be too close for friendly assets and shoot them down with ease and we will be unable to bring larger equipment from the USS Justen to the mainland making the push on the towns extremely difficult. They will fight to defend their homeland.

Any forces who are in the AAF outfit and are shooting back are cleared to be killed. Only return fire or ensure that it is 100% hostile before shooting as we must take care not to damage civilian relations.

      Mission:

      Execution:

A joint mechanized and infantry assault with supporting friendly assets will perform a beach landing to allow for resupply and further assets to be moved in. Afterwards, we will move onto the towns.

      Objectives:

        Secure the beachhead.
Secure the surrounding towns and the airfield.
Secure Pyrgos and the surrounding area.

        CONOP:

          Phase 0:

          Phase I: Brief

All units will stand by for briefing

            Phase II: Prep

Alpha will ingress to the beach via RHIBs Echo mortar teams will provide smoke cover and shelling of enemy positions on the beach if necessary. Echo ground assets will airlifted closer to the beach, potentially airdropped into the water depending on enemy anti-air assets at the time. Echo air assets will take off and immediately perform SEAD. Priority targets are the 2K22 Tunguska as well as 2x ZSU-23-4 near the beach.

              Phase III: Secure the beachhead

Once the beachhead is secure, Alpha will pull security and resupply. They will be given MRAPs for convoy movement. Echo ground assets will be fully delivered and ready to mobilize. Echo air assets will continue to perform SEAD on other AA targets near the AO. Echo artillery will be moved to the beach for future use if necessary.

Phase IV: Move to the airfield

Echo ground will attach to Alpha squads and move towards the Airfield and 2 surrounding towns.

                  Phase V: Move to Pygros

A convoy will be performed to move to Pyrgos. Clearing any towns along the way and securing the area around Pyrogs. Once this is complete, we will have a good foothold.

                    Phase VI: RP/AAR

                      All units prepare for debrief.
