Situation
{Placeholder}This past week, the 17th Ranger Battalion executed a bold para-drop behind enemy lines into Sector Sapphire Reach, capitalizing on the gains from midweek operations. The destruction of OBJ INFESTED FORGE and OBJ PYRE OF EMBERS not only crippled Terminid logistics but also yielded decrypted intelligence that set the stage for Saturday’s offensive.
The intercepted radio transmission revealed the presence of a high-ranking VIP in Al Nabq, with direct ties to Tyrone’s influence. The message read:
"I will be in Al Nabq later this evening to discuss our new military lead replacement. It is imperative this meeting is kept off the record."
Acting quickly, the 17th began its push toward Al Nabq, determined to intercept the dignitary and secure critical intel. However, heavy enemy counterattacks delayed the advance, allowing the VIP to escape to the port. Despite best efforts, the civilian boat carrying the VIP was destroyed by friendly CAS before it could leave the area. The target—and his valuable knowledge—was lost at sea.
The repercussions of this outcome have been severe. The death of the VIP, labeled a noncombatant by local sources, has sparked outrage among the local population and emboldened CSAT forces. Civilians who once aided us have now turned hostile, and the enemy has heavily reinforced the sector in response.
With local cooperation shattered and Sector Sapphire Reach under increased enemy vigilance, the road ahead grows more perilous. The loss of this intel has left us in the dark about Tyrone’s ties to this alternate world, and we now face the challenge of regaining momentum under strained conditions.
Rangers, the loss of the dignitary has left us without critical intel, pushing us into a sector-wide hunt for actionable information. The southern part of the AO must be secured to establish a clear path for the Saturday operation, ensuring we can strike decisively. Additionally, local cooperation has faltered due to recent events. Rebuilding their trust while uncovering leads on the mysterious Tyrone is now a top priority. Expect increased enemy resistance and the need for precision in all actions. Stay sharp and adaptable—our success hinges on steady progress this week.

Forces in Play:

{Placeholder}CSAT - Europe
Most Likely Course of Action:
Concerted and quick reaction to any movement in the Sector.
Most Deadly Course of Action:
Counterattack in force to including taking held territory with the help of angry populace.
Civilian Considerations:
Present throughout the AO. Any injured civilians are to be medically treated using BASIC BANDAGES. All civilian vehicles and dwellings are to be spared when at all possible. Killing civilians, destroying their property, or not treating them will give rise to potential IEDs and rebel forces arrayed against us.
Local sentiment is at all time low and we can expect IEDs and guerilla attacks on our forces at held locations and in support of CSAT
POW's:
Any and all POWs are to be sought when a location has been captured. A killed POW has the same effect as a killed civilian. First use a ZIPTIE on surrendered forces, then use ACE interact to move the prisoner and transport them to a FOB main building. THIS MUST BE A PRIORITY LOGI TASK! No POWs are to be left for pickup as they despawn. Best efforts shall be made to arrange pickup or keep POWs with the unit until pickup can be arranged.
