1 ) All Parent Policies from Iceberg Gaming are enforceable, with some additional restrictions as indicated by related rules below.
2 ) General Rules
2.1 ) All members will treat each other with dignity and respect, regardless of “Tabbed” status, rank, or responsibility.
2.2) Display Names / User Names
2.2.1) Members with matching names of existing members will be requested to pick a new username to be used within the community. Usernames cannot just contain incremental numbers such as jdow and jdow46.
2.2.2) All members must synchronize their accounts to have matching names across the board. You must retain some amount of your name. Don’t have two completely names in arma/guilded/teamspeak. This includes any platform you use that helps you connect and contact other members of the BN (Discord, Guilded, TeamSpeak, In-game), Steam Display Name is currently not Enforced.
2.3) Community Passwords:
Voice Chat, In Game Chat, Public Chat, Direct Messaging, screen sharing, platform streaming (Twitch, Youtube, etc.)
2.3.1) Password sharing by any means other than being obtained directly by the community Bot Resources or Documentation is grounds for review and possibly dismissal from the community. This includes but is not limited to:
Voice Chat, In Game Chat, Public Chat, Direct Messaging, screen sharing, platform streaming (Twitch, Youtube, etc.)
2.3.2) Sending password to members outside of the community is strictly prohibited regardless of means and is grounds for dismissal from the community without review.
3 ) Membership
3.1 ) Unit Applicants.
3.1.1 ) Age Requirement.
3.1.1.1 ) The current minimum age restriction for the 17th Ranger Battalion is 18 years of age unless sponsored by a current member of the community who has been active and is in good standing for the last 6 months then them minimum age for applicant may be 17 years of age. (referring members name must be included in the applications 'How did you hear about us?' section.
3.1.1.2 ) Persons under the age of 18 at the time of application will be subject to an interview.
3.1.2 ) Platform Standings.
3.1.2.1 ) Applicants with blemishes on their public profiles such as but not limited to VAC bans, Game Bans, Derogatory Comments, Inappropriate Profile Pictures may be subject to Interview prior to acceptance.
3.1.1 ) Age Requirement.
3.1.2 ) Platform Standings.
3.2 ) 17th Ranger Battalion Members.
3.2.1.1 ) All recruits are to attend Basic training within (30 days) of acceptance into the 17th Ranger Battalion. If regularly scheduled Basic training is not suitable to your time frame, you may request a separately scheduled basic. Failure to attend or schedule a private Basic training will have their membership to the 17th revoked.
3.2.1.2 ) New recruits that are previous members returning to the community may challenge basic and prove knowledge retention.
3.2.1.3 ) New Recruits who have 500 hours may challenge Arma General Basic Training with the exception of unit specific mod setup and unit specific information such as Radio Frequencies, Unit protocol, Membership Requirements, Unit Structure, and Uniforms and Loadouts. (Requested accelerated basic).
3.2.2.1 ) Member reinstatement of Rank and Duties may be issued with approval of the Respective Unit Lead.
3.2.2.2 ) Member awards may be reinstated with the approval of Community Lead
3.2.4.1 ) Members who have participated in the 17th Ranger Battalion for a Minimum of 12 Months, have had good attendance, and have been in good standings are eligible for a “Retired Member” Role upon good standing resignation from the 17th Ranger Battalion, OR
3.2.4.2 ) Members who have participated in the 17th Ranger Battalion for a minimum of 8 months and have upheld a position of leadership and have been in good standings are eligible for a “Retired Member” Role upon good standing resignation from the 17th Ranger Battalion.
3.2.1 ) New Recruits.
3.2.2 ) A member leaving for a short period should be filling out an LOA, otherwise they accept they have lost their place and must start from the beginning with the following exception:
3.2.3 ) If you are unable to be active due to life circumstances (e.g. deployment, hardship, "life"), please post in the LOA (Leave of Absence) forum so Command can preserve your status. Please include an ETA on when you will return.
3.2.4 ) Retirement.
3.3 ) Non 17th Ranger Battalion Members.
3.3.1.1 ) Any Iceberg Member playing in a 17th Ranger Battalion Operation will be limited to fire team roles unless specified by Leadership for that operation.
3.3.2.1 ) Joint Operation Members may be outfitted with their own respective uniforms and are not restricted to the 17th Ranger Battalion Load out.
3.3.2.2 ) Any load out items that reside outside of the 17th Ranger Battalion Load outs must be requested from the mission maker in advance to inform the 17th Ranger Battalion of assets in the field. Friendly Fire Guidelines still apply.
3.3.1 ) Iceberg Members.
3.3.2 ) Joint Operation Members.
4 ) Enforcement / Disputes
4.1 ) Unit Leads are required to enforce Game Server rules.
4.2 ) Unit Leads may require squad members to adhere to restrictions regarding kit, uniform, & actions during missions at their own discretion.
4.3 ) Issues of dispute shall only be discussed with relevant parties and the relevant Unit Lead in a private setting. If a Unit Lead is not available, relevant parties will endeavor to inform command staff as soon as possible of the dispute and resolution, if any.
5 ) Team Regulations Development Guidelines
5.1 ) Team Regulations should be sensible, address reasonable concerns, and support a fun and mature teamwork environment within the 17th Ranger Battalion.
5.2 ) Regulations should not be arbitrary in nature, and serve a clear and effective purpose.
5.3 ) Some areas that are common to have additional regulation could be:
5.3.1 ) Realism (teams may only wear unit approved uniform, and must have their units standard load out, safe all weapons).
5.3.2 ) Training/Skill development (Any member may attend any training on the calendar and obtain any Badge / Skill Award).
5.3.3 ) Logistics (Training staff must provide a written report to the Section Lead before Ribbons and qualifications will be awarded).
5.3.4 ) Command Staff reserves the right to modify or remove regulations if deemed they do not support the 17th Ranger Battalion brand or operations.
7 )Entering game
7.1 ) When joining an event, players will refrain from communicating over TS (Teamspeak) until they are in game and TFAR has activated.
7.2 ) Unauthorized use of friendly or enemy assets including but not limited to air, land, and sea vehicles is strictly forbidden. Permission must be granted from the current command element. If command is unavailable permission may be obtained from the HQ command or higher.
7.2.1 ) Using a slot when joining that is not your own assignment is not allowed. If the player feels that they need to fill that role they must ask permission and be acknowledged by a commanding representative before doing so. Failure to acknowledge this rule may result in another player's inability to fill a role they are authorized to take and weaken the battle-readiness of the mission.
7.3 ) The player placed in charge of a contract will remain in that position unless relieved from that duty by mutual consent or disconnection.
7.3.1 ) Unit Leads will refrain from relieving Team Leads of their duties mid-operation unless deemed necessary.
7.4 ) All players will don the appropriate load outs during all 17th Ranger Battalion events.
7.4.1 ) You may keep your current load out during mission briefings and AAR's so long as your weapon is put on safe and on your back.
7.4.2 ) Pilot Helmets will be removed for all mission briefings and AAR’s (After Action Report) for any and all events.
7.4.3 ) All other kits will be donned in direct relation to the player slot chosen at the time of entry to the game unless otherwise specified by an NCO or otherwise designated Fire Team Leader.
8 ) In Game
8.1 ) Any member who does not have a Microphone will be limited to a rifleman role until such time they are able to obtain a microphone to communicate effectively with other members in game.
8.2 ) Slot Selection / Assignment.
8.2.1.1 ) A member who is qualified within the roles company.
8.2.1.2 ) A member who is not qualified within that roles company.
8.2.1.3 ) A member who is qualified in another company.
8.2.1.4 ) Any other member who shows interest.
8.2.2.1 ) Unrestricted Roles - Any role that does not directly affect the outcome of another player's ability to play the game. (Does not require special qualifications).
8.2.2.2 ) Restricted Roles - Any role that directly affects the outcome of another player’s ability to play the game. (May require special qualifications to slot.
8.2.1 ) Slot Priority (A member will be given slot priority using the following).
8.2.2 ) Role Restrictions
8.2.3 ) No single person may hold more than one active role within the operation. This means a medic is not a leader, a sapper is not a pilot, auto rifleman are not AT. Milsim is a team activity, one single person doing more than one thing takes away from the rest of the group.
8.3 ) At no time will any player fire his weapon negligently (ND) during any event.
8.3.1 ) If a player fires his/her weapon(s) negligently during a mission, he or she will lose their weapon(s) until they can source a new one.
8.3.2 ) If a player fires his/her weapon(s) negligently during training, he or she will lose their weapon(s) and kit until the next stage of training takes place.
8.4 ) At no time will any player knowingly fire at a friendly unit.
8.5 ) During official operations, players will refrain from misusing or purposefully crashing vehicles.
8.6 ) During official operations, players will refrain from knowingly interfering with or disrupting events such as training, briefings, and AARs.
8.7 ) Iceberg Gaming members, 17th BTN Staff, and any other form of guest may join in with the understanding that they are not to take away from unit members in regards to positions within the formation. They are ineligible to perform Team lead or higher duties during official operations.
9 ) Load outs and Weapons
9.1 ) Camouflage will be determined at the beginning of each campaign.
9.2 ) All Players must adhere to the “Notice on Unit Loadout Rules” in regards to weapon allotment, ammunition count, optics, sidearms.
9.3 ) Joint Operation Guests are allowed their own Uniform and Loadouts as long as it is coordinated with a Mission maker ahead of time.
10 ) Post Mission
10.1 ) After Action Reports will be conducted at the end of the mission at the selection screen (out of game), or at a designated spot in the mission, and will adhere to the following structure:
10.1.1 ) Command will speak on Pros/Cons/Observations.
10.1.2 ) Alpha Squad Leaders will speak on Pros/Cons/Observations.
10.1.3 ) Alpha NCOs and Team Leaders will speak on Pros/Cons/Observations.
10.1.4 ) Echo Leader will speak on Pros/Cons/Observations.
10.1.5 ) Echo Vehicle leads will speak on Pros/Cons/Observations.
10.1.6 ) Floor will open to any participants to speak on Pros/Cons/Observations.
10.1.7 ) Unit Leads will announce promotions/unit specific announcements.
10.1.8 ) Command will announce any unit-specific announcements.
10.1.9 ) Mission creator will speak on Pros/Cons/Observations (If applicable).
10.1.10 ) All members will at this point be dismissed from the standard AAR however they will be invited to remain in the channel to further discuss AAR down to fireteam level.
