Specific Training Policies
Basic Trainings
-
May only be trained by an NCO who has met the “Drill Instructor” qualification Requirements.
- If you are not an NCO, you may not conduct a Basic training. even if you previously held the "drill instructor" role. You will retain the qualification, you simply cannot act on it.
- If a member has 500+ hours in ARMA 3 and has previous milsim experience, they qualify for an Accelerated Basic Training.
Accelerated Basic Trainings
- Orientation such as profile creation, key bindings, unit demeaner should be covered in full and validated by the trainer. Prior assumption of completion by the trainee is not sufficient.
- Trainers are to perform skill checks of all the material covered in Basic Training for each individual trainee.
- Material is not intended to be skipped, but understood. Trainees may come from different units/backgrounds and have different understandings of the material. They should understand how our unit operates.
- Example #1: Ask the trainee if they know what an 8-digit grid is. If so, have them read an 8-digit grid from a marked point on the map.
- Example #2: Ask the trainee if they understand the different types of bleeding control items (elastic, packing, TQs, etc.) and their usage. If so, have them stabilize an injured patient (preferably while verbalizing their actions), pulse check, and attempt at least one round of CPR.
- An ABCT should take about 1-2 hours depending on trainee comprehension.
