• 17th Ranger Battalion tasking. Alpha Company — assault force (RAID).

• Echo Company — support the assault and secure the perimeter of OBJ IRON.

Civilian Considerations:

Mission:

Rapid, decisive night seizure of Vympel 322 logistics leadership at OBJ IRON to sever maritime logistics. Isolate site, capture HVTs alive where feasible, exploit materiel, then follow with a town-clear to deny sanctuary. Use overwhelming force where necessary to ensure mission and force protection.

Execution:

Phase 1 — Insertion & Isolation (H-night, stealth): 74th SFG covertly establishes and holds Checkpoint South of OBJ IRON to interdict reinforcement/exfil routes and isolate POI. SIGINT/ELINT and UAV ISR confirm emissions and movements.

Phase 2 — Assault on OBJ IRON (Seizure): At H, Alpha Company assaults OBJ IRON (dynamic breach/CQB) to seize HVTs and secure site. Echo Company provides direct support (fire support coordination, transport of assault elements where required, and perimeter security) and positions personnel for rapid extraction on foot or via supported lift. 74th SFG maintains holding posture at southern checkpoint and provides overwatch/QRF. Engineers/EOD conduct immediate SSE support.

Phase 3 — Sensitive Site Exploitation (SSE) & Exfil: EOD/Intel teams document and package ledgers, drives, comms, EW components. Preserve chain-of-custody. Exfil routes to be on-foot to Designated PZ or via rotary/boat lift if air/sea assets are permitted and assessed safe; Echo Company to coordinate transport and security for exfil.

Phase 4 — Follow-on: Kirkonkyla Assault (Clear): Upon confirmation of HVT seizure and site security, 17th Ranger Battalion executes Kirkonkyla phase: Alpha Company leads sector clearances on foot; 74th SFG conducts feints/screens and acts as QRF; Echo Company supports dismounted movement and detainee handling. Engineers/EOD mitigate IEDs during clearance. SIGINT/HUMINT exploit detainees for follow-on leads.

Phase 5 — Consolidate / Transfer: Transfer HVTs and materiel to JTF Exploitation Cell at Michelob Airbase or alternate secure facility. Begin initial exploitation and debrief.

Mission AO and relevant imagery:

• Maximum force authorized to accomplish mission objectives and ensure force protection (per Operation Fullhouse).
• Positive Identification (PID) required prior to engagement when practicable; once PID is established, units may apply decisive, overwhelming force.
• Preservation of civilian life is desired but does not supersede mission or force protection requirements.
• Detainees: detain when feasible; neutralize if presenting immediate lethal threat. Preserve chain-of-custody for materiel/detainees when possible.
• If CSAT regulars are encountered, immediate self-defense is authorized and engagement reported upchain.

INTELLIGENCE REQUIREMENTS (Priority)

• Real-time confirmation of HVT presence at OBJ IRON at H-minus.
• SIGINT signature and geolocation of any active jammer/datalink at POI.
• Identification of reinforcement routes (land/sea) and enemy garrison size at POI and Kirkonkyla.
  

SUCCESS CRITERIA

• All designated HVTs (Jari Vainio, Irina Markova, Oleg Denisov, Ivan Gusev) captured alive OR neutralized if capture infeasible.
• OBJ IRON secured; sensitive materiel and records seized and passed to exploitation chain-of-custody.
• Kirkonkyla cleared of organized insurgent resistance; all military-aged males detained and processed per SOP.
• Friendly casualties minimized; exfil complete with materiel and detainees secured.

  • For Kirkonkyla, perform feints/screens to fix enemy forces and act as QRF for Alpha Company.
• Echo Company (Support / Perimeter / Dismounted Support)
  • Support Alpha Company assault with transport, perimeter security, fires coordination, and rapid extraction coordination.
  • Provide personnel to assist with detainee movement and materiel transport to PZs.
  • Maintain PZ readiness for exfil by foot, boat, or rotary assets as dictated by air/sea clearance.
• Engineers / EOD
  • Route clearance and IED mitigation on approach/exfil lanes. SSE render-safe and pack high-value materiel.
• SIGINT / ELINT / UAV ISR
  • Localize jammer emissions; provide live overwatch, emitter geolocation, and immediate targeting updates. Monitor maritime approaches.
