Opord

Situation

Tensions rise in the mid-Atlantic between the islands of Malden, Everon, Sarugao, and Koljugev as the Russian Federation are trying to use the islands to construct weapon factories, to include tanks, planes, and armaments for the dated Malden and Koljugev Defense force. With all these factories and occupations, it will add on to the old US Surplus that KDF and MDF received back between the 1980s and 1990s during the cold war against the Soviet Union when these island were NATO allies. However due to their withdrawal from NATO they have acquired export vehicles from Russia to expand their military presence. That being said, expect both BLUFOR and OPFOR assets from that era, and current gen Russian exports ranging from BTRs all the way to T-90s. As we progress with our occupation we will be able to cut their supply lines short and prevent them from acquiring supplies for their factories.
Time: Dusk

Area of Operation (AO):

MSKE

Forces in Play:

OPFOR:

  • Russian Federation
  • Malden Defence Force
  • Koljugev Defence Force

Blufor:

  • 17th Ranger Battalion "Iceberg's Battalion"
  • 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines "War Dogs"

Civilian Considerations:

Civilians will be in their homes, do not damage civilian infrastructure unless absolutely peril, and positively identified as holding threats.

Engagement Criteria:

Return fire only, no damage to civilian infrastructure unless absolutely necessary.

The enemy won't be aware of our advance with the fleet. There will be RHIB patrols, maybe civilian vessels, but nothing that the MK. Vs cannot deal with. Once on land, the FOB location will be potentially already secured by enemy forces and need to be cleared out. Potential enemy QRF will move into the position and assault us as we are setting up.

In the worst case scenario, there will be naval mines in the water as well as multiple heavy gunboats patrolling the beach. They will have noticed us moving the fleet in early and prepared for our advance onto the archipelago. The FOB will already be heavily entrenched and dug in, in advance of our approach making it a slog to secure. Upon securing it, fortifications will be rigged to blow by enemy forces and a QRF will move in, resulting in us having no structures to defend with.

Mission:

Begin an occupation on the Archipelago.

Execution:

Complete a Naval insertion after repelling Naval forces away from the Mk. Vs and once on land secure a location for FOB if there has not been one built.

Objectives:

  1. Secure FOB Location to make or occupy FOB on Everon.
  2. Once Victory is secured, relax until the next mission while logistics such as vics and weapons are being supplied to your position.

CONOP:

  • Phase 0:

  • Phase I: Brief

    • All units will stand by for briefing
  • Phase II: Prep

    • The MK. Vs will be checked and prepped before we move out.
    • Echo little bird pilots can prep for resupplies and JIPs in the birds.
  • Phase III:

    • Alpha will load up in the boats with Echo getting in to move us to the beach.
    • Expect light resistance during this time.
  • Phase IV:

    • Once enemy naval forces have been repelled, Echo will land the MK. Vs at the beach and fold in with Alpha.
  • Phase V:

    • Infantry will move towards the FOB, clearing out whatever enemy forces are in the way.
    • Echo pilots will be on standby to drop off supplies and troops if necessary throughout this time.
  • Phase VI: RP/AAR

    • All units prepare for debrief.
