Execution:
Phase 1: Insertion and Approach (2200-2230Z)
The battalion will insert by ground vehicles and move tactically toward the target area.
Phase 2: Execution of Extraction (2230-2300Z)
The extraction force will secure the POW’s location and neutralize any enemy forces preventing exfiltration. AC-130 support will provide suppression of enemy forces and counter-battery fire if necessary. The extraction force will then extract the POW.
Phase 3: Exfiltration (2300-2330Z)
The battalion will exfiltrate the area by ground or air, with AC-130 cover as necessary.
Tasks to Subordinate Units:
Alpha Company: Lead assault element; secure the POW’s location and neutralize enemy forces.
ALpha/Echo Cmpany: Establish a secure perimeter and assist in POW extraction.
AC-130 Gunship: Provide close air support, suppress enemy forces, and assist in extraction.
Conduct recon and identify the exact POW location.
Provide overwatch.
Coordinating Instructions:
Time of Execution: 2200Z, exact timing dependent on weather and intelligence updates.
Rules of Engagement: ROE for this mission is "escalation of force" based on threat level. Minimize collateral damage, especially in urban environments.
CAS Coordination: AC-130 will remain on station and provide suppressive fire when enemy contact is made or when extraction is in progress.
4. SERVICE SUPPORT
Logistics:
Pre-positioning of supplies and medical support will be handled at staging areas outside Fallujah.
Medical evacuation (MEDEVAC) is on standby should any casualties occur.
All personnel are to carry additional medical supplies for self-aid/buddy-aid, as well as combat rations for a 24-hour operation.
Communications:
Primary: Secure radio frequencies (Battalion SOP).
Backup: Satellite communication for AC-130 coordination.
Command and Signal:
Command: Battalion Command will be on the ground with 1st Platoon.
Signal: Standard encrypted radio procedures for communications during operation.
5. COMMANDER’S INTENT
To execute a successful and efficient POW extraction at the Fallujah Industrial Park while minimizing enemy engagement, maintaining operational security, and ensuring the safe return of the POW to friendly lines. The battalion will move quickly, decisively, and with overwhelming force where necessary, ensuring that air and ground elements are fully synchronized for effective execution.
