Situation:

We have successfully cut off the main M13 highway into Farabad, recovered a nuclear warhead, and dealt a deadly blow into the enemy force. The final opportunity to crush the remnants of the Farabad Regional Army and Res Publica is here and now, with the siege of the city of Farabad. Intense fighting has broken out inside of the city between the Children of Azar insurgents and our enemy. It has been a deadly urban war, and we are being sent in to bring an end to it all.

    • An insurgency brewed from Res Publica's experimentation on the people of Farabad. Through armed revolt, their goals are to remove Res Publica from the region, dismantle the Farabad Regional Army, and to establish a new government under Iraq's jurisdiction. They possess an extensive network of informants throughout Farabad, providing us key intel for our operations.
    • Underequipped, using mostly repurposed Land Rovers and Hiluxes.

Civilian Considerations:

The region is an active combat zone with civilians present throughout the region.

Mission:

To end the siege of Farabad, it is critical we capture the primary commanding officer, Colonel Charles Thorne of the Res Publica and Farabad Regional Army. His capture will likely see to the final surrender of enemy forces in the region. We believe his primary command post to be at the Embassy Complex.

An AC-130 has been provided by command in order to support the CoA insurgents in their northern attack against the FRA forces in the mountain region. They have requested support against the remaining mechanized and armored units blocking their advance. We have also received intel about potential enemy camps at the mines. Their destruction would cripple their ability to mobilize and repel us from the city.

Unfortunately, with the intensity of the fighting, we have also been given additional secondary objectives to help aid the beleaguered populace if possible.

During the outbreak of fighting, a blackhawk was shot down with supplies on board intended for one of the allied CoA insurgent cells. They have crash landed in the middle of the city and are needing assistance in being extracted out. This CoA cell was attempting to coordinate an attack against the Farabad Hotel, in the north part of the city. It is considered to be an enemy hardpoint and supply depot. Capturing this hotel would cut off the northern escape route out of the city.

We have also received reports of an Imam from the nearby mosque who have led a group of refugees away into a shelter south of the mosque. They have been caught in the fighting and are trapped in the slums district, just southwest of the mosque across the MSR. Evacuate the Imam and his group of civilians back to the airbase.

Execution:

Launching operations will be conducted from Farabad International Airport. Any civilians, personnel, and targets are to be recovered back to Farabad Airport at a designated zone.

    • Seize the Embassy Complex and capture officer
    • Assist insurgents in the northern mountain area near the Tankah and Aggar Mines
      • This is intended as a dedicated mission for the AC-130.

    • Rescue the downed helicopter crew
    • Rescue the civilians from the slum zone
    • Assist insurgents in attacking the Farabad hotel
