Situation:

Significant ground has been taken throughout the day's fighting of March 8th. The 17th Rangers and the 9th ACG have successfully locked out the enemy forces from the fjord and the open water. While a small chemical contamination did break out over Ulvik Port, the situation is well contained by responding CBRN units. Charlie and Delta Companies of the 12th Airborne Cavalry, while suffering heavy casualties, managed to hold their position at Helbotn Village thanks to the timely arrival of friendly forces. Unfortunately, any attempts at further advancements into enemy territory have proved deadly, with the mountain passes being fatal funnels in favor of the enemy. To make matters worse, air operations have been increasingly difficult due to the weather picking up with snowfall, with a predicted snowstorm taking place. As a result, all fixed wing assets have been grounded until further notice.

An additional situation has developed from Res Publica. A GPS jammer network has been established much over the Hansvoll region. This coincides with an unknown signal originating from Larseng, just south of FOB Valhalla. An investigation is warranted by RRC.

With Nervei Port under our control, we still have an opportunity to press an offensive from the north. The LHD USS Cold Harbor has delivered additional ground assets, mostly Strykers and Land Rovers, at the port to prepare for a ground operation heading south towards Hansvoll. With how much Res Publica forces have been weakened from the past two days of fighting, this is an opportune time to remove them from the region.

With prior scans of the region before the jamming network was established, we can confirm the following points of interests:

  • Hansvoll is due south of Nervei, with a travel distance of roughly 4km.
  • A Radar Station south of Nervei
  • A Refinery east of Hansvoll
  • A highway strip south of Hansvoll (likely used as an improvised launching point for their air assets).
  • A trench network south of the highway strip (see LiDAR image).

Due to the successful capture of the Elvegard Motorpool from the first operation, we were able to determine that the LAV-25 is equipped with the Trophy MV APS and Chieftain MBT are equipped with the Iron Fist APS.

APS Types

  • Trophy MV: Protection from rockets and missiles (3 charges left, 3 charges right). 30 meter MDD.

  • Iron Fist: Protection from rockets and missiles (2 charges left, 2 charges right). 50 meter MDD.

Civilian Considerations:

- A refinery is present to the east of Hansvoll. Preservation of this refinery is mission critical. All other considerations secondary.

Mission:

The first step is to capture the Nervei Radar Station. Controlling the control center will be utmost priority as it will be essential to providing us valuable intel to the region for the rest of this operation. Afterwards, the next steps will be to advance generally south towards Hansvoll and systematically removing the enemy defenders. We suspect garrisoned units in the main area of Hansvoll itself, which will need to be cleared out to pave the way for our armor to advance down the main road south. In addition, the highway strip and the refinery must be secured.

Controlling Hansvoll will be the key to pressing our final attack onto the holdouts of Res Publica to the far south. Once we clear through the trench network, Alpha Company of the 12th AC will arrive to reinforce your positions.

Execution:

RRC is requested to conduct an investigation of the signal source by Larseng at 04:30. The main ground operation will proceed as scheduled at 15:45. Primary launching point for the battalion will be at Nervei Port with ground vehicles, with reserve rotary air assets kept at Stordal Airport and the LHD Cold Harbor.

Mission Maker Note

This does not have to be a strictly convoy op. The distance to travel into combat from Nervei Port is not far. Command discretion on deployment strategy.

Objectives:

  • Capture the Nervei Radar Station and interface with its radar and LiDAR network.
  • Control the following areas of Hansvoll:
    • Central Hansvoll
    • Hansvoll Refinery
    • Hansvoll Highway Strip (destroy any air assets)
  • Remove the dug in defenders around the suspected trench network by Masvatn.

Please don't request Paladins/Howitzers for this operation. Mortars are fine, especially for the trench network.
