Opord
Situation
Time/Date : 0715 / 22 April 2024
Weather : Clear
Area of Operation (AO):
GOS Al Rayak ; South Western Region
Forces in Play:
Opfor:
- Houthis
- Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP)
Most Likely Course of Action : OPFOR notices BLUFOR slowly taking over control of GOS Al Rayak and begin entrenching themselves with whatever/wherever still remains. With supporting factors of insurgents being brought into the mix, it is likely reinforcements will arrive at each OBJ
Most Deadly Course of Action : OPFOR limits intel being spread throughout their remaining territory leaving Rangers endlessly searching for nothing. Insurgents begin over-reinforcing, adding more power in numbers for OPFOR while advancing from standard infantry combat to also adding in armor and air superiority
Blufor:
- 17th Ranger Battalion, US Army
- 160th SOAR
Greenfor:
- n/a
Engagement Criteria:
- Civilians and civilian infrastructure are present all across the AO. Civilian fishermen may be operating off the target coastline. Rescuing civilians and IDAP personnel has improved the general populace’s opinion towards coalition forces, but we must improve their opinion of us through our actions in this and future operations. All targets must be Positively Identified, and damage to civilian infrastructure must be avoided if possible.
Mission:
Execution:
Rangers will rapid air assault multiple OPFOR locations with two goals in mind; eliminate all OPFOR and secure any possible intel. There is a massive possibility with the intel we find, more will come but for now, we have 4 set positions in mind that could potentially contain information needed for future actions. Recently, a lot of insurgents have entered the fight meaning assaults will be harder than normal as numbers have increased. Side intel also shows the implementation of IED's within the field, EODs will now be mandatory for the rest of the campaign.
Objectives:
- OBJ Void - Town of Al Furqus - Clear area of insurgents and seek out intel
- OBJ Fire - Western Oil Refinery - Clear area of insurgents and seek out intel
- OBJ Ice - Eastern Oil Refinery - Clear area of insurgents and seek out intel
- OBJ Air - Town of Hamrat - Clear area of insurgents and seek out intel
- Air assault multiple areas of contention in search of intel and information of further tasks
- Clear all enemy held areas of insurgents
- Insert and transport Rangers for continuous air assaults
- Provide JIP Services and resupplies throughout the operation
- Provide CAS via AC-130
- Scout and secure LZ’s for Ranger insertions
- Provide forward reconnaissance for Battalion maneuvers
- Neutralize any OPFOR boats that enter BLUFOR area
CONOP:

-
Phase II: Prep

-
Phase III: Initial assaults (OBJ Void)
- Rangers will open up the operation with an Air assault on the town of Al Furqus (OBJ Void), from that point on, the primary goal is clear all OBJs of insurgents and gather any possible intel
-

- Similar to the previous phase, Rangers will be mainly focused on their primary goal but should be ready to adapt to a new plan of action
