Warno
Date: 5 September, 2024
Time: 1030
Weather: Cloudy with a chance of Ultranationalist
Situation:
Ultranationalists have conducted a large-scale counterattack across Loyalist territory, taking advantage of the lack of security in rear-line units as soldiers go on leave for a major Yulakian cultural festival. Ultranationalist guerillas have sprouted in urban centers and coordinated attacks on strategic radar, artillery, and AAA positions. Small-scale marine incursions and air assaults on headquarters and reserve groups have further added to chaos in Loyalist Command and Control. A ground offensive is making slow progress into Loyalist territory. The 17th will be rapidly redeployed to repel attacks in the region, starting with the Yulakian capital.
Wartime news:
- The Polish aviation wing stationed in Yulakia is entering the 7th hour of a siege from guerillas and air support. Only two F-16s were able to take off before the runway was closed off due to artillery and MANPADS.
- Polish troops in the central zone are holding ground.
- French Paratroopers in the Northern zone were forced to cede ground in face of a major armored push supported by infantry and rotor-wing aircraft.
- BLUFOR anti-air sites have been suppressed by artillery or ground assault.
- The offices of the Yulakian President, Prime Minister, and Government Ministers outside of Mazemovo are accounted for. Government is currently functional.
- Ultranationalist aircraft are actively attempting to maintain air superiority. A number of aircraft have been sent to ward off Coalition Naval aircraft, but lack in-air refueling and long-range missiles to sustain air superiority over the Aegean Sea.
- Russia seeks retribution for the deaths of two of its soldiers at a port. The U.S. denies responsibility and re-asserts that Russians should not have been in Eastern Yulakia. *
