Weather: Mostly Cloudy
Situation:
Faced with a deteriorating strategic situation, the leaders of the Batonan junta, along with a significant number of their remaining combat troops, and aided by Russian forces, have evacuated Fapovo. While there are remaining pockets of resistance, NATO peacekeeping forces have been able to step in and continue working to deescalate the conflict on the island.
This is by no means the end however. Intelligence reports that Batono leadership is in possession of several antiquated, but still capable mobile ballistic missile launch platforms, which they absconded with during their escape. Their movements have been tracked to the neighboring nation of Altis, where recent ongoing hostilities have continued to hamper the nations ability to maintain its sovereignty.
Intelligence regarding the Batonan launch capabilities of their ballistic missile systems is extremely limited at this time, but given the current extra-national state of affairs in Altis, and its proximity to the mainland; the potential for the Batonan militants to possess chemical or even nuclear delivery systems is now a top concern.
Enemy Forces
- Batonan National Army
Friendly Forces
- 17th Ranger Battalion
Civilian Considerations:
Civilian presence highly likely in and near population centers, as well as on major roadways. Maintain discretionary fires, no ordnance > .50 Calber permitted within 200m of population areas.
Mission:
Forward elements of the 17th Ranger Battalion have been re-tasked for immediate reinsertion into Altis. Satellite imagery shows BNA forces have successfully made landfall and have been moving troops and materials inland.
The 17th will be conducting a predawn paradrop IOT to initiate an assault on one of the primary landing areas for BNA forces on Altis, designated OBJ SANDLINE With the intent of disrupting further enemy operations inland.
BNA Forces are conducting defensive operations around the immediate area, with regular patrols, and multiple checkpoints along the main roads and service byways. We expect them to be responsive to attacks, so expect potential QRF from other nearby BNA detatchments.
Execution:
- Battalion briefing no later than 0400 Zulu
- Insert via airborne paradrop
- Clear and Secure OBJ SANDLINE
- Conduct Further Reconnaissance as able within AOR.
Mission AO and relevant imagery:
Objectives:
- Neutralize OBJ SANDLINE
- Conduct Reconaissance by fire, and assess enemy disposition in the AOR
- Conduct thorough SSE on enemy positions, and secure any relevant HVTs
