Warno

Date: 11 FEB 2024 (Continuation from Part 4)

Time: 0600
Weather: Foggy, Light rain forecast

Situation:

Enemy Forces

OPFOR:
  • People's Liberation Army (PLA)
    • Ground Force, Navy, and Air Force (PLAGF, PLAN, and PLAAF)
    • Initial reports indicate large airborne deployments across Mariterra with additional assets deployed by sea.
  • Mariterran Liberation Front (MLF)

Friendly Forces

BLUFOR:
  • Remnants of U.S. 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division*
    • Casualty list marked below
  • Mariterran Union (MU)

Civilian Considerations:

  • Preservation of U.S. assets and personnel is primary goal. Destruction of infrastructure authorized.

Mission:

<:: Effective February 5, 2024 - VALENTINE CONTINGENCY ::>
In the case that the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) engages U.S. Armed Forces in the Pacific, this is considered a DECLARATION OF WAR between China and the United States. Threat of the PLA is significant and U.S. Pacific forces are at high risk. U.S. allies, including South Korea, Taiwan, Japan, Philippines, and Australia will deploy military forces and conduct defensive operations by land, air, and sea.

<:: Mariterran Theatre SOP ::>
1) U.S. units in Mariterra are to delay PLA incursions until relieved. Evacuation likely not possible during first weeks of contact.
2) ROE: Deadly force authorized. Hold fire unless fired upon ROE is lifted.
3) Preservation of U.S. assets and personnel as primary considerations.
4) Preservation of Mariterran Union assets and personnel as secondary considerations.
5) Preservation of civilian infrastructure as tertiary consideration.
6) The following must be held at all costs to ensure U.S. foothold is maintained on Mariterra:
- Airbase Haven (Main reinforcement avenue)
- Cape Rassa (Capital of Mariterra)
- Nexus HQ (Command, Communications, Control Center)
7) In case of PLA incursion, destruction and denial of infrastructure, including bridges, roads, railroads, and airbases is authorized.
8) Destruction of Airbase Rassa, Airbase Gasparilla, and Airbase Orion is authorized to prevent capture by the enemy.

Execution:

The 17th Ranger Battalion has been resupplied by the survivors of Charlie Company, 1st Battalion at Airbase Rassa. Working night vision goggles, radios, and GPS equipment have been provided. However, air strikes and artillery bombardments have destroyed much of our last working ground vehicles. Air supremacy is actively being contested by the PLAAF and the 7th Fleet. J-11 fighter jets have effectively grounded much of our airframes at Airbase Haven. Meanwhile, C Co, 1st Bn will attempt to conduct demolition of AB Rassa and fend off OPFOR.

The position at Camp Sobel is untenable. Encirclement is imminent. Supplies are limited. Several camps are spread out between Sobel and Cape Rassa with spare assets and supplies in reserve. Consider recovering these equipment to bring back to Cape Rassa. Each piece of equipment brought back is an additional fighting chance to hold the capital. Some assets have managed to be repaired to assist the 17th in these efforts.

IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING JIPS: In order to decrease the length of time for jips to have to be transported via ground, a mobile set of tents will be used via backpack that can be dropped down by players. A limited number of backpacks will be provided (no more than 3). These tents can act as forward spawns but can be destroyed. [TENTATIVE BY HHC APPROVAL]
