Mission:

Due to the success of the 17th Rangers securing Rassa Airport, we have managed to split the remaining MLF into two, cutting them off into two main elements. The 3rd BCT has conducted several assaults all along the frontline and managed to secure several key points. However, their advance has been halted along several chokepoints, especially in the northeast towards Corel Springs. The Lake Port Railway, designated OBJ Hydra, is one of the major strongholds that is being used to recover MLF forces and send them back to Corel Springs to defend. It is also one of the major oil refinery facilities in all of Mariterra. Intelligence reports suggest that the MLF intended to conduct a scorched earth tactic and destroy the oil facilities in their retreat. We cannot allow this to happen.

The 3rd BCT has attempted to conduct several assaults towards the Railway, with little success and heavy casualties. The western approach from Rassa Airport is considered untenable, and Charlie Company, 1st Battalion of the 3rd BCT has had to disengage. Bravo Company, 2nd Battalion was driven back from the southern approach towards Harborside, designated OBJ Kraken. This leaves one other approach: three bridges from the south towards Lake Port. It is a wider front compared to the other two avenues of approach. We have sufficient evidence to believe that the MLF are dug in deep across the AO as they continue to use the Railway to retreat refugees and military forces. In addition to this, they have managed to activate a functional jamming network that protects much of the northeastern region of Mariterra, disrupting our communications. This must be destroyed by any means necessary.

The effective radius of each jammer is approximately 2 to 3 km at each installation. There are two known installations that are functioning, designated OBJ Triton and OBJ Siren.

Execution:

The 17th Rangers will be deploying from Airbase Orion and conducting a ground war to drive out the MLF defenders. Air assaults are ill-advised due to the dense foliage and active AA emplacements in the AO, including MANPADs around Lake Port and RADAR and IR based SAM sites towards the Rotonda Airport by Corel Springs.

Three bridges have been designated: Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie as potential avenues of approach.

In the previous assault attempts by the 3rd BCT, they have been met with mines, emplaced AT guns, T-55 tanks, and Chinese ZBD-86 models that we believe were loaned by NORINCO.

*Carrier Strike Group 6 has been dispatched into the South China Sea to link up with the main fleet to handle increasing tensions with the PLA Navy. As a result, a large portion of our air support has been rerouted.*
